Makan Makan: Asian Food Village

This one's the first, so here we go.

It was an accident, yes, the discovery of this restaurant was an accident.

My family and I were at the Manila Ocean Park last Saturday for my little not-so-educational trip for them.
We were strolling around the place then saw this really classy restaurant at the 2nd floor of the Ocean Park, near Hotel H2O.

I was easily entice by the restaurant's ambiance. The lights were really comfortable, the chairs and tables were really laid back and for the complete package, the overlooking Manila Bay on the side.

The restaurant has no walls, no doors, no guards, instead you'll be welcome by an Old Village Inspired pathway towards Makan Makan.

The vintage village entrance

Opening salvo, the eye-catching bar.

And yes, they have these old style food signage hanged all over the place which added to the really vintage ambiance of the restaurant.

One thing I loved about Makan, Makan -- This,

The open kitchen (where you can see every detail on how they prepare the food before it reaches your mouth)
It is divided into several groups depending on the kind of Asian recipe (Singaporean, Malaysian, Thai, Chinese and Philippines)

With an overlooking view of the Manila Bay plus a really classy table setting, Ahhh, A perfect place!

And the food, perfect!
The all time"brotha's" favorite -- Makan Fried Chicken

Heaven! Baked Prawns with Salt and Pepper <3

And the out of curiosity order, Suckling Pig

And the perfect way to end the meal,
scoops of  Vanilla, Ube, Mango and Chocolate Ice Cream!

To complete the romantic ambiance of the place.
They have an in-house Acoustic Band from 6pm up until 9pm. Take note, you can actually request a song to them.

Indeed, a really nice place, affordable food with an expensive-feeling ambiance.
Near the busy streets of Metro, Makan Makan, Asian Food Village at the 2/f of the Manila Ocean Park.
